Detoxing

I’m going on a detox program starting tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it and I’m not. See, I like my food. This detox program provides me everything I need nutritionally – it’s just not the psychological enjoyment impact of eating all the variety of yummies I love.

My eyes sting

The last few nights, I’ve been getting to bed at a decent hour. I’m getting full night’s sleep. And the last couple of evenings, I feel totally exhausted and ready to crash before 9pm. I guess my body is making up for lost time and is asking for more at a time when it thinks…

sticking with it

I’m still doing my detox diet/fast. Today is day 12. For the first time, this week, it has gotten hard. Not because I feel hungry or even physically strange… instead, it’s just because I want to “eat” something! It’s a psychological thing. For example, this week we went to Panera Bread for the first time….

Oiling the rusty hinges

I pulled out the canvas, paint, palette knives and brushes this weekend. It’s the first time I’ve painted in weeks. It felt great and it felt terrible. When I spend time away from the easel I feel the loss of facility with the paint and brush. Each time, I have to work out the kinks…

On the ball…

After sitting on an exercise ball for the last trimester of my pregnancy, one of these Balance Ball Chairs looks really enticing! I just sat on the ball without any kind of base like the one they are selling. I’m convinced that I wouldn’t have been able to walk if it weren’t for the exercise…

Refusing to touch alcohol

Just came back from Lenton & Wortley, reeling after seeing Jenny for the first time ever. If you know who Jenny is, you know what I’m talking about. Matt and Jo thought that I was majorly obsessed because at lunch today I kept on saying I’ve had enough this week.. way to much to say…

Its a Hard Knock Life

Woke up today to the sound of gale-force winds knocking over my mirror to the floor. Thank god it stayed in one piece. I finally did some washing last night (this morning earlee), and as usual.. NOTHING cleaned.. well not as well as I’d hoped.. including my new Harlem jacket which used to be white…

Out with the old, in with the New!

While waiting for Spong today (who never actually came out, and probs ran off to Jubilee without me), I bumped into Jade (Abeola), who looks soooo dodgy!, then John, who I hadn’t spoken to in a while. It was a very distant conversation, literally and mentally. Maybe just cos he’s stressed.. maybe because I’m fed…

Nottingham Remembered

To make a change, I’m going to post some pictures that I got developed recently, of Nottingham Uni people! Most of them are annotated, but I’ll do a bit of commentary as well. Salad tossing This picture was taken at our dinner before we went off to James’ mates’ pub crawl. It was quite eventful…
